Why is it that when someone tells you that there's billions of stars in the universe, you believe them. But if they tell you there's wet paint somewhere you have to touch it?

coz there is no way to find out the exact amount of stars in the universe! And the only way to find out if the paint is really wet is to touch it!

I'm guessing it because you can't really ever find out about stars in the universe for sure, so you just take the information as truth. Whereas, wet paint you can find out for yourself, and the temptation is just too much to resist.

Its because you cannot test if there really are a specific number of stars but you have control over knowing for sure if paint is dry yet....

cos we can touch the paint but we cant count the stars. also we just like to make a mess of someones hard work

I can tell if paint is wet or not and i'd be unlikely to touch it and get my finger all sticky. Stupid question for this category.

laziness. its easier to touch wet paint than count all the stars. the best lies are always thouse that people will never bother trying to verify because its too hard.
