Most people need 6 - 8 hours sleep. That does not mean you should necessarily go to bed every night at an exact time. Some days you will be more tired than other days. Rather than saying your sleep time is 10pm, it may be better to say somewhere between 10-11pm. It makes it easier to judge sleep time when you get up each morning at the same time. Because if you get up say everyday at 7am, you would know that for example by 10pm you are tired. But if you go to bed and are lying awake, it means you have gone to bed too early. And if you were to struggle to get out of bed the next morning it means you went to bed too late. I believe if you wake up each day at the same time Monday to Sunday it would be reasonably easy to detect what your appropriate sleep time should be. With a bit of trial and error you will work out what is right for you. You may find for example before 9pm is generally too early as you lie awake. (unless you had a particularly exhausting day) and you may find for example generally after 12pm is too late as you can't get out of bed the next day. You may find the occasional late night okay, but if it is two consecutive late nights, you don't function very well. In a nutshell, you need to listen to your body and use you energy levels as a guide. The days that you feel alert and full of energy, take note how many hours sleep you had the night before.

I think it is good to sleep before 11pm to maximize the value of sleep. Because according to some study I've read at 11pm - 1am, the de-toxification process happens in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.
At early morning 1 - 3am, de-toxification process in the gall happens, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 3 - 5am, de-toxification of the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the de-toxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
At 5 to 7 in the morning, de-toxification in the colon, time to move bowel.

Apparently we sleep in 3 hour cycles.... and we feel really bad if we;re woken up in the middle of a cycle (you know those times when you just CAN'T get up and feel rotten?)... but when you wake up at the natural end of a cycle you feel great! SO depending on your timetable of the day..... work out what time you have to get up ... and go to bed wither 6 or 9 hours beforehand.....
Oh and don't drink tea or coffee beforehand and avoid eating heavily!!!
Good Luck!!

I personally think is 9pm, but it s depends on the situation. are you working or studying? Let say, you sleep at 9 and wake up at 6am, that will be good enough. But not much of us are like this.

hey.... it is a question with many answers.
one would say sleep when you feel you want to sleep even if it was 9am. but this is not reality in our life.
some would say sleep 8-10 hours from your next day activity so if you want to start work Say at 9am so you have to go to be before 11.
well i dono
