i know,
it's mere an umbrella,
we can forget or forgive store-owner
but is he ready for taking his responsbility?
he also should offer u for new umbrella and
conveyance etc. or he can give cash instead of.
it's his mistake, and if he is going to cut from
the salary of counter man than just forget ,

just, do what niranjani said.
write a letter, and then u have written proof
that he is not going to pay
so u can go to consumer court,
but it's too lengthy procedure
anyway,
good luck

Dude, it is just an umbrella..it will cost you more in small claims court than the umbrella is worth. Buy a new umbrella and chalk it up to experience. The lesson here is...Don't give up your belongings to the Coatcheck.

That's not really your umbrella. No one really OWNS an umbrella. There are only actually like six umbrellas in the world and they're circulated through everyone. That's why, when you see an umbrella lying on the ground, you don't think, "Oh, someone lost an umbrella." You think, "Oh, look...my new umbrella."

If you haven't lost anything else apart from the umbrella, then don't worry. If it's something like important documents or your wallet, then you've got major reasons to follow up (and take legal action).
