treat it wth sulphuric acid. u get the equivalent mass of iron.molecular mass= equivalent mass multiplied by its valency.and then weigh the given sample and find the mass of iron.! 1 mole of iron weighs equal to its molecular mass.then mass of iron in the sample is calculated.then estimate the no of moles.

I would add sodium hydroxide. This will cause the iron to precipitate out.
