This is a good question because i am so familiar with this subject
.There are times when i can not sleep and i to stay up all night, yesterday i stayed up till 4am When you are not relaxed you can not sleep. If you go to bed angry or with something bothering you it Will keep you up all night,.I sleep alone and that could be a problem too,But a hard days work or a good work out will help you to sleepy also a big meal when you eat a lot your body slows down so it can digest your food but the wrong food will keep you up all night not to mention they say if you eat late it will put pounds on you i seem to be the opposite of that equation at 155.If your old enough a loving partner will definitely help put you to sleep

If you have a man, have sex with him that always works for me! But if he's anything like mine trying to wake him up is too stressful for the end result which is probably nothing! Sorry a little personal hostility towards my love one! But yeah try sex! If not drink warm coffee, that sound stupid but if I can't seem to turn my brain off i drink warm-hot coffee puts me out almost instantly! Maybe that's my ADD kicking in those are the only things I can think of right now I'm tired and it's only 3am where I am!!

Been there. I'm sure a lot of people on here are answering questions b/c they can't sleep. What's worked for me:
-melatonin right before bed
-get rid of anything distracting in my bedroom
-exercise earlier in the day (cardio)
-no caffeine at all (when I have really bad insomnia) or only one/day and none after 12noon.
-sounds of nature/ white noise
Good luck!

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Start by turning off your computer so you are not tempted to post a question or see some of the silly answers that are put up.

Melatonin. It's an over-the-counter supplement. It replicates the hormone that the human body produces naturally in response to darkness. Not recommended if you have asthma.

Get up and eat something. Try a cup of tea. Sleepy time tea is the best.
