I'm forever hearing people bleating on about how we "must protect the children". Everything I do, it seems, harms children, smoking, swearing, having a sense of humour etc. etc.

The other day, on this very site, someone told me they wished I would burn in hell. The same person also answered another question saying "we must protect the children".

Now, I'm only 27, but I used to be part of "the children". So at what point, exactly, did I turn from someone who "must be protected" to someone you would like to see burn in hell?

Is that ALL children or just me?

i have 3 kids of mine own.....love them with all my heart.
i protect them with everything in me.
BUT, i don't think shielding them from everything in the world is for their best intrest.

if i see child abuse going on or someone letting their kid(s) (at a young age) look at naked pics (it does happen) or always partying around their kids than thats where we should step up.

there are alot of people who think "protect our child" think if you even cuss in front of your child, it's going to cause brain damage.
usually they are the ones who don't have kids. But yet, they know all.

That's right you "used" to be a child, but you are a grown woman now capable of taking care of yourself, and making decisions for yourself. There is never a point where our children stop being important to us even when they are adults. I'm sure your parents feel the same about you, just dont expect the people here on yahoo to because they dont even know you. Have a great day!

No...lol.
I think you left the point of childhood when you learned the truth of right & wrong. When you reach that point, you're not considered a child any more, so you can burn with the rest of the adults in hell, I guess.

theres a family who drink in my local (julie and her pikey tramps) who's kid (aged 4-5) is just a little shitt, they teach him to swear, to hit people and how to be generally abusive. should we protect kids like him?
hell no, throw him under a bus before he stabs me in 10 years time for my mobile.

with the growing hoodie culture around, the kids are ****** themselves over so i dont think we should do a damn thing.

hell, i'm only 19 but i got out of there, got myself a good job and done it all myself.

ok.... but to answer your original question. actually, i think its just you.

children never cease to be important. if you life style is harmful to a child. then you need to rethink the state of your life style, because whatis harmful to the child is also harmful to you. this is not meant as an attack on you at all. it is for your own good. email me an we can discuss this further. k.

children become important from the day they are born and it never stops. doesnt matter how old they get, you remain protective of them forever.

When they start becoming insufferable little sh*its

You know that special age where they start wearing track suits, intimidating people outside the co-op and dreaming one day of stealing their first car...
