I personally think cats are arrogant creatures that rejoice with your terror.

Ask your parents if a cat scratched you as a kid? I am curious as to why you are afraid. They usually gravitate to those they trust. It's an honor really. My aunt was terrified of cats for decades and wound up getting one as a house pet. It lived with her 14 years. Why don't you have a friend hold their cat and try petting it on the head. Pet it from behind if you are that scared and make sure the cat is declawed. Condition yourself gradually and eventually the fear will go away. This is no way to live!

Cats have so much personality that I don't think people are truly aware of. Cats in many ways are like people because they each have their own personality. I read a while back that while some cats love all the attention, some don't. The article mentioned that the cats that don't like to be fussed over will the seek the attention or the companionship of those that will leave them alone. Since you are not comfortable with cats they seek to be close to you because they are aware that you aren't going to fuss over them.

Wow, something similar happened to me a few years ago. I had a cat appear out of nowhere and follow me everywhere for 3 weeks straight. It had weird human looking eyes, some people said they looked like my fathers (hes dead, since 97) and said it might be good luck; that he might be watching me and taking care of me. Well, it probably wasn't him cuz all that it brought me was trouble.

Lesson is, if its acting weird in anyway, its not a good sign. Make it go away before its too late!!!

Yes cats naturally follow those that they are attracted to. I have a cat named storm, she hates most people, runs from them. But she seems to follow me around everywhere. There are others that come to visit here that she curls up around that are strangers to her, but others that I have known for years, that she runs away from. Cats are their own individualized creatures and they sense things that we cannot, no wonder they are worshiped in many cultures. It has been said that you are truly a blessed person if a cat hands you its favor. Be glad that you are blessed and try to overcome your fear of them, they are really sweet creatures to get to know.

I don't know. If you have a learning disability like aspergus or ADHD, apparently animals seem to be more attracted to you. My cat lets me cradle him like a baby but when everyone else tries, he jumps off immediately. I don't know. It could be something to do with some sort of essence that certain people have, that attract cats.

Cats are attracted to certain people. Also cats are smart and love to find ways to torture people. Yes i am a cat person, i should know that. Cats hold grudges too, i almost got killed by a cat. ^.^ but they are cute furry critters
