My property has a river running through it... l'm on a farm...
LIKE - good fishing, it looks good, it waters the animals, it can be fun to jump in a boat and go for a row, because of the water it helps grow excellent pasture around the banks and also let me irrigate the rest of the land
DISLIKE - the mosquito's, sometimes it can be a pain in the a.s.s to cross and when it floods it ruins my fences

I live right off the lake, I can literally walk out of my front door cross a residential street and touch the lake! I love the view it's so serene and when it rains(which it tends to do a lot of where I live) I can open my window or balcony door and hear the rain hit the lake! Talk about relaxation, that is the ultimate in serenity!! I don't like the fact that it's an public area and people are so freakin' nosy and I can't do what I want to do all the time for fear that one of those nosy people will call the police or something weird! I also don't like it for an obvious reason I have a 4 and 1 year old at my home daily and although I'm confident the 4 yr old won't open the door, I can never be too sure( he sometimes breaks the rules just for the attention). The 1 yr old can't reach it but one day she will be able to and she may get out she way more of a dare devil than my 4 yr old ever was at that age, so I can just imagine when she gets his age! But all in all I love living near the lake it's so peaceful at night and most of the day!

I live near about 3 lakes, I live in a really pretty part of inland Spain, and there are loads of natural parks etc..
The lakes are beautiful - what's not to like about them?
Well, actually, the mosquitoes can be a bit of a pain...(humidity)
But it's worth it - views are spectacular, and theres no need to clean the swimming pool!!

I have a river in the backyard of my house.
I adore it. I think it's fantastic for various reasons:
- Fishing
- Chilin' in the sun
- Listening to music
- Writing
- Pictures
- Having fun
It's gorgeous.
My only complaint is the mice...

It is not big enough to call it a lake.
I would love it:because of the smell and sense of freedom.
