I'm only 3 months pregnant, yet I am already out of my jeans and tighter clothes and into tracksuit bottoms.

With my first child, you could barely tell until I was about 4 and a half months.

The doctors told me that with a second child, it is normal that it is noticeable earlier. Does anyone know why this is?

Also, I haven't had a doctor's appointment for 2 weeks, and I don't have another one until 3rd November. Is it normal to have a large bump already?

Thanks!

Same thing happened to every other mother I know. They got big quicker with the 2nd baby, it's natural. The belly is already stretched out from the first time. Good luck, you'll be fine, you've already done this once.

Hi!

I was in the same situation with my baby boy as a second child :)

My daughter is 3 yrs old now, and I was 25 the time I was having her, no-one could notice, that I'm pregnant till I was 5 month. Now in the age of 28 with my son I was putting up weight like : 3 month +6 kg, 6month +11kg I really looked like a whale :))

So it is normal to have a bigger "bump" with the second child, and the size depends on the age of the mother, and how "fit" your womb is, and how fast the baby grows (babies are all different as well)...

So don't worry about the bump too much. But You have to speak to Your doctor about this just to make sure everything is going fine with the baby :)

The frequently doctor's check is very important. We made a shedule with my doctor and I saw the doc every 2 weeks or so from the beginning. (once for ultrasound than for the monthly visit, and again for some blood-results or what ever...)

If your doctor will not do an ultrasound on the 2nd of November, You should ask him/her doing it, just to make sure everything is OK with baby and placenta and umbilical cord (flow, vessels) and if the amount of the amniotic fluid is not too much for the age of baby...

Have a pleasurable pregnancy !

Your doc is right! Very Normal to have a baby bump already. They say you notice later pregnancies earlier because the muscles in that part of your abdomen take a very long time to heal and "reconstruct" themselves. You would have to work out really hard to get that 4 or 6 pack back! Oddly enough I hid my second pregnancy for nearly 5 months. Then is was like I exploded overnight! I went from fitting into Jeans to wearing sweat pants in about 2 weeks!
Congratulations. and good luck on a smooth delivery and a healthy baby.

I was like that too when I was 3 months. I don't know why, but maybe you retain water. I always had to go on a diuretic, because of that, plus my blood pressure. I looked like I was about 5 months, when I was only 3. It was my second child, and she was breech birth too. They did not have C-sections as much, so I had her butt first, the hard way.

It could be any number of things.... perhaps a big baby. I have heard that the baby of each subsequent pregnancy is generally bigger than the previous one.
It happend like that with my mom; there are 4 of us and each was bigger than the last.
or do you or your partner have a history of twins in the family cos that could also explain it.
At this stage you should probably be seeing your Dr every 6 weeks.

All pregnancies are different your body changes over times. It's normal, have you had an ultra sound done yet could be twins unless that was already ruled out.
