If the knife is still in, do not take it out. This goes for all impaling injuries as the oject, in this case a knife, is to some extent plugging the hole . Failing that apply firm pressure with some absorbent material and do not keep taking it off to look at it. You may need to keep adding my absorbent material, and if so put it on top of the others, dont take them away.
Obviously phoning an abulance has to be high on the list of things to do.

Assuming the person who stabbed you isn't still around brandishing the knife.
If the knife is still in you do not remove it. If it isn't put pressure on the wound.
Call 999 and ask for an ambulance, and assuming someone actually stabbed you on purpose then the police as well.
If the person who just stabbed you is still around and violent either run away if you can move without bleeding too much or try to talk them down or last resort get the knife away from them. Call the police if you can without aggravating him or her.

Ask to borrow a lighter and keep it lit as long as possible or heat something metal up and place it on the slice or hole from the knife and it would burn the flesh shut stop the bleeding and id dial 999 and say some bastard stabbed me

you need to stem the flow of blood so use a jacket or something, put it over the wound and put pressure on it. while keeping pressure on the wound, call 999 (britain) or 911(usa) and ask for an ambulance. tell them where you are, what you are near, and how bad your wound is. also try to retain an image of the person who stabbed you (if you saw them) and after being treated, tell the cops and they'll try to find the guy/gal who stabbed you.

Ithink the best thing to do is go to the hospital. Get it cleaned and sewed up and also notifie the poilice on who stabbed you. But who am I to say maybe it works best for you if you do nothing and lay there bleeding all over your ralph larine clothes.

someone once told me best thing to put over a stab wound is a credit card (provided it covers it) with lots of presure the hospital asap.

erm.. apply pressure to the wound and get to hospital asap.. if the thing you have been stabbed with is still in the wound, leave it there it will stem the blood flow
