Yes, but you are not allowed to tow it on to a motorway, only off it. Towing in ordinary streets is ok .

Yes you are allowed, but the rope has to meet the safety requirements. You should check with your insurance company-they will have access to the rules and there you can find out how far you're allowed to tow, when, with what, etc. Good Luck.

yes best to have a towing sign in the towed vehicle, proper tow rope, £10.00 from halfords.
Cant tow on motorways and not ideal on A roads either.
must have someone in the towed vehicle steering and braking and with hazards on.
be warned its hard work and you get a whiplash effect from the rope pulling on the car.
ive been towed about 3 times and each time it scares the sh*t out of me!
good luck!!!

Yes, if you mean can the tow be flexible (unlike a tow bar). Strictly speaking though, I think the rope should be purposeful, i.e. it should adhere to British Standards. For example, these tow ropes are allowed:

Yes. There's a maximum length for the rope (check the highway code). Both vehicles must be taxed and roadworthy, and both must have a qualified and insured driver.

yes but only to the nearest garage and not on motorways has to be a recovery vehicle.
although in Spain you cant its illegal with heavy fines but i must say car insurance has compulsory breakdown cover which i thinks a great idea and the uk should adopt it.
