Try to find help there in Tenerif, I think maybe any ong may help you, do you have a residence permit? Anyway you may try to call the embassy and try to find any way to obtain it without going to Madrid...

if you have a criminal record it is good believe it or not. go to the local authorities and ask for a print out of it. thats the best id besides a passport you can get!
