you cant withstand him with other girl,
separation causes the flow of tears,
keep smiling in lonliness,
talk about him always,
can do anything to make him happy,
cannot do anything beyond his wishes,
ready to die for him,
love to spend excess time with him,
making dream/date plans with him,
think of something beyond friendship,
getting seduced by just looking,
getting lost in a virtual world only with him
etc. etc. etc.

When you would give up your life for that person...take a bullet, jump in front of a bus, climb the hightest mountain, sacrafice everything just to put a smile on their face.
My first love moved away after our first nine months together. I spent the next two years driving 362 miles (each way) EVERY weekend, except for a couple of weekends here and there. I truely loved her and no amount of miles would have kept me away. We broke up after three years, but I really sacraficed alot for her.
I couldn't make that drive today. The only thing that kept me going all those nights on the road was the thought of seeing her. One time I drove out for just the night and left the next morning.
I hope that gives you some insite to what true love feels like.

Well, for me, I guess when you're really in love with that person, you'd accept him/her whatever shortcomings they have, you'd be satisfied and be contented just having them around (even without hanky-panky and you-know-what) and that you'd want to change yourself for the better... you'd be more inspired, and smiling like an idiot...

When they say "Hello" and your tongue goes into a knot, you can't think of anything to say, and those damn fireworks keep blocking my view of her when she speaks.

you would definitely know it!...you'll experience mixed emotions.... you can say you are in love when you start to give and not expect....it is not how much he completes you but it is how much you can take him....well when that happens....you are tuly in love then.
