I think it can find out and compare the advantages and weakness between a company and its competitor and predict the competitors business activities.

Definitely. It shows that you have done your due diligent and considered other risks.
However, keeping in mind who are your audience and be careful of giving away all your secrets. You may just want to mention your findings without giving away how you arrived at your findings, or mention competitors by coded names rather than actual names.

DO IT! How can you evaluate data if you don't have controls and comparisons in place? You need this data to convince your prospective investors that you're their best option.
