Why doesn't "Rolling Stone" know what real music is??

Question

OK, so I was just reading through their list of top 500 songs of all time, and I got through the top 300 and didn't see Pink Floyd yet, and Zeppelin was only there a few times. Those two bands have made some of the best music of all time. Where is the love?? I'm not just saying that because I love both bands, I'm saying that because they went places that other bands were scared to go. Pink Floyd in particular was very groundbreaking. David Gilmour is, in my opinion, one of the most creative guitarists of all time. He may not have been the best or most technical, but his chord progressions and moods are second to none. It just bothers me that a magazine that claims to be a top music publication can ignore some of the best songs/bands ever and get away with it. Thats my rant, I guess I'll shut up now.

Rolling Stone used to be the pulse of music but now they have fallen victim, just like MTV, to the whole corporate, steal a fetus from Nickelodeon and create a pop star mentality of music. Every time they come up with a new list of greatest this or that they always stick a bunch of recently released crap in there so that the present day humanoids will buy their rag. Hopefully something will happen again to shake up music, but for right not it really sucks.

To each his own --There are even many more excellent bands that have contributed much that need mentioning. It"s also a "generation" thing too -- you may not like what others like ,because of the "times".
