America lost most of the so called freedom with the civil war. It's concept was to receive all people and races as freeman yet it was founded by slavery and the landowners had indentured workers. To preserve the union cost thousands of lives, a history built on violence and now it attempts to rule the world under the same concept of freedom for other nations when it can not do justice at home. Life is about choices and changes, stop preaching and start being active.The people have the freedom to practice religion as they choose and you do not have to quote the bible or shout out your personal views. Use the religious section. You show dishonesty in using a political question so you can preach and as you know that is wrong..God bless.

Pah-leeze honey! Nobody is putting a chip or anything else in my gayass without paying at least $10K first. No, America is not as free as we were on Tuesday when we had the freedom to express ourselves online without fear of being sent to Abu Grabass for treason. I'm not saying Bush isn't the Anti Christ, but "angel of light"? Not! The very Christians who believe the bible babble were the ones who elected him while we sinners saw through him the moment he first said "Make no mistake about it". There was no mistaking his evil for those of us not blinded by the so called light that guides the hatred of the right wing. Here's a Revelation for all Christians. Wake up and smell the hypocrites in our own Republican party and vote them out. Now be a good little sheep and follow your brain instead of that man made book.

Yeah. Remember Orwells' 1984? Its happening now. Point is, you can't let your own people run too freely around if you want to maintain power here and abroad. If people who aren't on America's soil feel the effects of it, how much more those who are living in the same vicinity?

Religion and superstition are not necessary to support the growing awareness that even America can be taken over by fascists. In fact, America HAS been stolen by a small group of very rich and powerful people who think freedom means only their own freedom to steal, exploit, lie, torture, bomb and rig elections. May we find the inner strength and the will as a nation to restore freedom to the people.

I agree that usa is now no longer a unfastened united states yet disagree which includes your clarification why. at the beginning, how are individuals "chained to the church"? people pass to church voluntarily. no one has ever been compelled to attend church or be arrested. Secondly, gays can kiss one yet another in public without being arrested. they might get nasty comments from disgusted witnesses yet in spite of this, maximum persons locate it irrelevant for on a similar time at present people to try this. And final, deadly injection is the main humane execution in background. could you prefer to pass lower back to public hangings, public beheadings, burning on the stake, stoning to dying, firing squad, gasoline chamber, or electric powered chair?

I do NOT agree with you. The only thing you can't do (which you never could) is threaten the president's (or vice president's) life, or the life of his family.
You can still dissent all you want, though if you use crap sources, people will call you an idiot!

Define freedom. Americans have a distorted idea of that and therefore ALLOW themselves to not be free.
Freedom is of the mind, and with our thoughts we control our world.
If you don't understand this, study it and what surrounds it, for time is running very short now.

What I find so interesting is that all of these nuts that want to see a border fence or wall go up think the wall is to keep illegals out.

No one has the freedom to have sex.
No one can worship at the church of their choosing.
No one can belong to the political party of their choice.
No one can file any lawsuits.
No one can publish their views about their disagreement with the President and Congress.
No one can run around imitating Chicken Little, ............................
Because freedom is completely and utterly dead. No freedom left at all. None.
