i am for it its to end the suffering of a person who has nothing to live for.it also costs a lot of money to keep these people alive
Euthanasia is suicide mercy-killing right-to-die by a physician .
it is not murder as some people think
i would want someone to end my life if i was in a state that i could not function, eg a vegtable state

If an animal is suffering and there's no way to stop its pain, euthanasia is a viable alternative. I recently had to put my dog to sleep. She was the best friend I've ever had. It was an act of mercy.
Why can't a human being be shown the same mercy? Someone is pushing their religious beliefs onto someone who is suffering and has no hope of a cure or even relief. If someone does not believe in euthanasia, they don't have to be euthanized. When they enact laws to outlaw that option for others, they should be imprisoned for needless cruelty.

Euthanasia is against my religion (Roman Catholic) because all life is sacred and only God should decide when a person dies, but I believe that keeping a brain-dead person's body alive is a bigger sin. If we are to leave it up to God then doctors have no right to keep a dead body functioning with machines. I have told all my relatives that if I am dead without a chance of recovery then I don't want to be hooked up to a machine that makes me just an expensive puppet.
We put down our beloved pets when they are in pain and have no chance of recovery, but humans are told to bear the pain because God never gives you more than you can handle. It seems that we treat animals more humanely than our fellow humans.

Here's my thought on it: it's completely acceptable to do it to animals when they have become old, incontinent or experiencing some sort of dementia, so why the hell not do it to humans? Both animals and humans have souls. What's the difference?
When a human (who has free will) wants to end their life, it's suicide.... If someone else assists to their desires, it's considered homicide. None of this makes any sense. If a person wants to die, euthanasia should be allowed.

It depends on how you define euthanasia.
If it is the withholding of aggressive treatment or forced feeding from someone who is in a vegetative state, I not only feel it is right but I have a living will that requires my executor to follow this merciful course.
If it is giving patients poison or shooting them, this is murder even if it is what the patient wants.

Are you talking about putting a beloved pet down? Or a family member?
I only had to put 2 pets down. One had distemper. Oh how I cried. The other was 13 and had cancer. Tiger was and is missed still.
Now if your talking about a family member I think the people who decide sometimes do so in greed or anger and not in love. I only know of 4 times that I was close enough to ask questions of the people and love was not the reason they did it. I would hope that for me love is the reason, not that they want my ring or car. Not that I became a burden to them.
If you want my story of my mom's death email me. It hurt me so much I wrote it down and saved it on my computer.

I think it is the MOST respectable thing to do, in a case where the person is suffering, If you believe, like Doctors do, that we are JUST bodies, then the effort to keep bodies alive are justified (at the expense of the being who is SUFFERING). We are spiritual beings, inhabiting bodies. What is best for the body (in the case of life support) is not always best for the spirit. Thumbs up on helping the being - especially when the BODY is trashed.

I am pro euthanasia. If someone loses their quality of life they lose everything.

Everyone is saying, it's alright for animals. You wouldn't want to see them suffer, so why is it O.K to watch someone you supposedly love, suffer if there is absolutely no chance of them getting any better.
If the situation ever happened that I was unable to do anything for myself, and I was not going to get any better, I hope my family would make the decision to let me go.
