To calculate the age of the fetus, you need to remember the date of your last menstrual period. From there you can count the fetal age by weeks.

If you want to know when is your due date just subtract 3 mos and add 7 days.

For example:

Last menstrual period date-04/02/ 2006

4-3=1
2+7=10

1/10/2007 -Due date

Good day!

Doctors count from the last period. So, a four week fetus is actually only about two weeks old really. This is because pregnancy happens during or after ovulation which occurs 2 weeks after the first day of a women's period.

The last period is used because it is a date women know and remember. Many women do not know when they ovulate.
