Does anyone know how I could file a complaint against a motel for ripping me off, but more importantly for being compeltely unsanitary?

Hi there,
The first thing is to outline and draft your grievance in script and then find an attorney that specializes in taking that sort of action...
If it's not a legal action, follow the first part and submit it yourself.

Contact the Better Business Bureau: http://www.bbb.org/
They were organized to fight against poorly performing businesses. Give them the details and they might be able to take your complaint or tell you where to go.

Since you haven't given any details on how you were ripped off, you should talk with them first to see if you have enough for a legal case.

You can also contact the Health Services Department in your area. They run inspections on all of the service industries where health and cleanliness are important issues, including the Hotel Industry.

You can also look for local Hotel Associations like:

http://www.ehotelier.com/browse/associations.php
To find a local association which you can complain to.
Try a Google search on Hotel:Associations:city where the hotel was. I can't do it without the town's name.
