"The Prince" Machiavelli is a good one. "Creating Affluence" Deepak Chopra is another

I don't know what you mean, but there are plenty of books you should read to enable yourself to understandlife's more profound aspects.

I like these two: Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby; Tolstoy's Anna Karenina.

But there are many others: Steinbeck's East of Eden--Grapes of Wrath is wonderful too, but dryer. And sadder.

Well, I recommend this though I've never read it before--it's that good: Cervantes' Don Quixote.

Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison is lovely as well...

...and many more I can't recall on short notice.

Don't read them hoping to get rich, famous or power; the novels will enrich you, educate you and provide a framework for thought; they help us rise above the mundaneity of daily life.
