stick it into the pci slot on the mother board and it will reconize it
and ask for the driver so then put in the cd that came with it ,follow the instructions and ur done! -cheers

Most sound cards are plug and play now. Open your computer and put it in. Go to windows update and let it find the driver. If it doesn't, go to the manufacturer's website and download the driver. I assume it's OEM and that's why you don't have a CD.
If you have a CD, go to hardware wizard and it will detect the sound card and that it needs updating. Then, it will ask for the location and you need to point it to the CD. You might have to find it on the CD in a file such as XP, 2000 or whatever the platform is.

Open the case. Ground yourself to the metal part of the computer. Unscrew the screw that holds the sound card in. Disconnect the jumper wires. Pull the old sound card out. Put the new card in place and snap it in by pushing it down into place. Put the screw back in. Reinstall the jumper wires. Put the case back together.
