It seems to be a setting in my computer rather than the videos themself I always just see a green screen. This happens sometimes on Yahoo! Video but on other platforms too.

Any ideas and settings that I can look at.
thanks

you might be missing some video codecs, try downloading http://sourceforge.net/projects/gordianknot Gordian Knot, it will instal a ton of codecs for you and most probably you wont havve any video problems. please creat a system restore point just in case!

It's most likely that your video card is overloaded. You probably have onboard video which is RARELY enough to run DVDs smoothly (if at all). Most onboard video is only 4-16 megs of VideoRAM which is great for small applications, but it unless you have TONS of RAM, it's going to overload your system.

My suggestion is to go get a good video card (ATI or nVIDIA) with at least 68 megs of VRAM and drop it into the PCI or AGP slot (whichever one you have). Then make sure that you enable the new video card and disable the onboard video (in Control Panel). That should fix the problem.

Whenever you want to get a new system, hit this place called Stupid Cheap Computers ( www.stupidcheapcomputers.net ) and enter the code: ATX926 to get 10% off of any purchase. I get all of my stuff from them. They sell new, complete systems for LESS than I would pay to piece one together and build it myself. Plus, all of their stuff comes with a warranty.

It could be video codecs...or you need to upgrade your video driver.
right click "My computer"-->Properties. click "Hardware" tab and click "Device manager" button. There, find your video driver (display) and it should be self-explanatory from there (if not, driver tab then "update driver" button)

Please check to see what plug ins are missing on your browser, since you're obviously using your browser to watch streamed content.
