During the past 6 years, we have not been able to accomplish anything important and beneficial. This country has experienced one debacle after another: a failed Iraq policy, runaway debt, stagnant wages, the list goes on. The only way to hold this unaccountable president accountable is to take back control of the House or Senate or both. In less than 30 days if the people of this country vote and put Democrats back in control of Congress, we would have committee chairman that could launch investigations and examine policies with the full authority of Congress. Minority members do not have this power now. They can not control what bills are considered, how long committees debate them, whether bills get reported out onto the floor, or whether a vote gets scheduled. All these decisions are made by the Republican leadership of both the House and the Senate.

This is why we must really energize the Democratic base to take this election seriously and have high voter turn out at the polls on Election Day. They’ll try to manipulate this election, suppress our vote and play the fear card again, but this time we can’t let them succeed. The only way to counter-act their strategy is for everyone to turn out and be counted. The future of our country is at stake. The way the world perceives our countryis at stake. And the future of our children and our grandchildren is at stake unless we take back control and change the direction this administration has taken our country. We have that power. Let’s use it.

You know, I'm a Democrat, and I plan on voting next month. But please, for the love of God, quit the Barbra Streisand masquerade because it just makes us all look bad. She is a shining example of how politcal activists should not behave.

The Democrats and Republicans have run to the middle so much and placated so many people with money, that there's not a thin dime's difference in their overall performance.
They do not know how to help people and both parties support all "War on X". They only know how to draft restrictive and punitive laws. Politicians and governments are not good at "convincing" people. Only FORCING them to obey. I don't think Democrats are any better at forcing people to believe the way that they're told to.
Getting more people to vote in the first place will help diminish the power politicians have of buying groups' support with campaign promises.
For me, I vote third party only. You have more choices than you are led to believe. To see ALL of the ballot choices in your district, go to NON PARTISAN Project Vote Smart. or current the COMPLETE party guide: http://www.politics1.com/parties.htm

Babs, you got it right. Every one who is against the policies of this administration is obligated to vote them out. Historically, voting Independent is a wasted vote. We must first get rid of the current administration if we are to stand a chance of recovering all that is good about our country. Now is not the time to remain silent. Speak up and let the world know that we will absolutely not tolerate the destruction of our freedoms, our borders or our rights by this right wing regime! I might not be an International recording artist, but hundreds have listened to my own original songs that speak out against the atrocities of the Bush administration and I will not stop speaking out until we see some justice here. Join us in voting the Democrats in and the Republicans out next month. It's time to send this administration the message that enough is enough.

Tammy, you actually nead to ascertain up on your structure. Electoral votes are determined by technique of the states, no longer by technique of the Senate or residing house of Representatives. maximum states doll out their electoral votes in an "all or no longer something" variety election. Winner takes all. each and every state receives a particular type of electoral votes. this is continually important for human beings to vote. i might want to particularly they did it in an advised way.

If your idea of "accomplishing anything and beneficial" is to be taxed up to your eyeballs, losing the war on terror, endless investigations that cost time and money but accomplish nothing worthwhile (what would it solve when Democrats think there is just so much going wrong that they need to fix, why waste that time), amnesty for illegal immigrants, no ID for voting (which would really screw up elections), handcuffing our intelligence by not allowing them to intercept phone conversations of known terrorists or extract information from them, weakening the military and national security, opening our borders, abortions at any time at any stage of pregnancy, not notifying parents when a minor is seeking an abortion (which is funny that they should be able to make the choice to kill another human being but not have sex .... ahem, Foley investigation), endless social programs that drain the economy by keeping the poorest of citizens dependant on governement benefits rather than out looking for a job to join the middle class, amongst other things, then yes, let's put Democrats back in office, but none of that seems very appealing to me.
