I have always liked older guys.I am 17 and my boyfriend is 23. I really like to be around older guys and I like how they treat me. I feel it's because I never had a dad. One time I liked this guy in his thirties and it went kinda far, I think I liked him because he kinda reminded me of like a father figure, is that wierd? please no wise cracks

He so fatherly to me and it makes me feel good becuz I never had much of a father figure in my life either. I've always been attracted 2 older guys also so if ur weird I guess I am 2(Lol)

No, that is not weird at all. If you had no real father figure then it all adds up. Just remember that at your age there is a big difference between where you are at in your life and the older men are in theirs. It is not a big deal once you are say 25 to be with a man who is 35 or 40, but at your age, the difference even if it is 5 or 6 years can mean a lot. Good Luck to you and remember to always take care of yourself- There are a lot of older men that only one thing from a 17 year old girl. Stay safe.

There is nothing wrong with liking older men. But you need to decide if you want a father or a boyfriend. Maybe talk to someone about not having your father in your life and work on that first. If after that you still find older guys attractive then continue dating them but if you realise all you wanted was a dad then start dating guys your own age.

If you already know that your liking older men stems from issues with wanting a father figure then in my opinion it is a little strange. In relationships we should look for people that compliment us.. help us become better ... inspire, uplift and care about us... In the sense of a father figure , you're looking for a man to be there for you with his wisdom and guidance, and maybe to take care of you? I myself never had my father around. I know how it feels to want to just know what sincere caring is from a guy... but hopefully these older men arent too dominating and that you are finding mutual love and respect regardless of age difference. I have to say that I think you'll find a balance in the future.. of knowing how to tell maturity in a person no matter what age they are. Maybe you should talk to someone about missing having a father? I think it would help you feel more comfortable with any future decisions you make in your relationships.

I think you are a very mature 17 year old and you are totally aware that it may be an attraction because of a lack of the male parent in your life, make sure he knows this too so if it all of a sudden goes away he knows this could happen , as long as you are up front and honest and don't go too far I think it will be alright.

Yes, that's weird. Even more weird is that a 23 year old would be interested in a 17 year old...

No, it's very common. But remember, just as dads die before their daughters (usually) so will that old husband. It's better to find someone closer to your age who is mature. BUT, whatever floats your boat. I used to prefer older men but now I like them younger, lol.

the words weird and normal are what society make up.
If you feel what your doing is right within your heart then yes by all means it is not weird it is right.
Go with your heart as you know within yourself that is the right thing for you to do!
