I think it's a brilliant story - at first, Othello appears really strong and self-disciplined, and Iago seems a loyal and trustworthy friend. Later, Iago is revealed as evil and conniving and Othello loses control of his emotions, especially jealousy which just takes him over.
'O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on.'

I liked the film version too.

I beg to differ with Eminem, the movie O was terrible. Josh Harnett did a terrible job portraying Iago, he was not villainous enough. I like Iago; he might seem like a simple guy but I think he's one of the most enigmatic characters of Shakespeare.

It is my favorite of all his others (and I am generally not a Shakespeare fan). I think the themes of betrayal, jealousy, and deceit are brilliant and of course the depth of all the characters (my favorite being Desedemona for some reason). Watch the modern-day movie remake. It's amazing.

Blah, like War and Peace and Tale of Two Cities. I enjoy Danielle Steele, Margaret Atwood, Ann Rule and others.

I don't know much about it, but I hear it's good. And I know Shakespear rocks!
