to put it simply, a "multi-modal presentation" means:
1. making a presentation
2. on a chosen topic
3. to deliver a core message

a. expressively
b. effectively
c. and in a way that captures and maintains audience attention

4. with the use of various audio and visual tools, which may include an actual model, a product, or process/method demonstration

suggestions:
1. choose a topic closest to your heart
2. identify your motivations, establish and formulate audience relevance
2. research on and master your topic
3. develop an outline

a. what you want to say (core message)
b. how you want to say it and why (relevant sub-topics/parts)
c. conclusion (call to action: is it enough that they 'know' or should they 'do something' based on what they know? if so, what is it they can/should do? reiterate your message.)

4. based on your outline, identify what presentation 'modes' (audio, visual, demo, participatory, combination) would be most effective for you and your topic
5. choose and prepare your materials
6. practice your actual presentationm aiming to make it:

a. expressive - mastery of and belief in what you say/do
b. effective - knowing what, how and when to say/do
c. captivating - use of attention-grabbing & attention-keeping presentation/speaking techniques (anecdotes, repartee, humor, personal insights, statistics or sidelight info, q&a, etc)

TIP: make it informative enough to be relevant to them, long enough to inform but short enough to grab and maintain their interest.

you'll do very well. best of luck!

Golly why that teacher would not help you is beyond me. I would suggest that you contact your student adviser immediately. :(

I'm a college grad and I've never heard of a multi-model presentation! Of course, the terminology might be different now and I know it by some other name...but that's a new one on me.
