Hi! It sounds like your are doing all good things. Pepto Bismol sometimes makes poop black. Usually it's something you ate about 3 days before. Somtimes it's vitamins with Iron. Don't be afraid unless you get bad stomach pain and then call the doctor. I really hope all goes well with you and you have a wonderful pregnancy because you seem like a very smart person who wants to do the best for a potential child. Good luck, sweetie!

Your body is getting rid of the bad toxins, it has to come out somewhere. If this continues over 7 days I recommend you see your doctor. I bet you will see a difference in a couple of days. Drink more water and keep flushing your system. You will feel much better soon.
CONGRADS on quitting, hard I know, but you are doing the right thing. Coffee - I quit years ago and don't miss it at all.
Take care, keep on keeping on you will make it and you'll feel much better soon.

It could be that your body's in shock, in a way. It's experiencing some changes and has to adjust. But even if you think you drink enough water, you probably don't. Especially if you are trying to concieve. Don't be afraid to get a doctor to take a look, as well.

Iron will turn your stool black. Prenatal vitamins have a lot of iron. Nothing to be scared of or worried about. It happened to me and I freaked out, but I asked my OB and he said it was normal.

"Note: Certain foods and medicines also can change the look of the stool. Taking medication containing bismuth subsalicylate, such as Pepto-Bismol, or iron tablets can make the stool black, and eating lots of beets may turn the stool red. Some food colorings also can change the color of your stool. Eating foods with black or dark blue food coloring can turn your stool black."
