I want to do something to make him feel special to let him know that he is the most important thing in my life. We have been dating for 2 years, and I eventually want to marry him, but this long distance relationship has really been getting to us. Any ideas for something extra special that I can do for him? It's not really possible for me to get home more than once every 1-2 months and I really need some good ideas to make sure that he knows that I care about him. ThankS!!

On your next visit home, secure a day that you two can spend by yourselves without any external bother. Call his friends and ask them to take care of anything that they must so that you can have that time to yourself. Does he work? Get him to take a day off. Does he go to school? Figure a way out that he can miss his classes -- bonus points if you can get his assignments delievered to him the day after. Contrary to popular belief, most professors and teachers ARE human and, if you explain your situation to them in brief, will help you out to some extent.
The day that you have set aside, take care of things for him. Don't ask him for a ride from the airport / train, make him a nice breakfast, etc. Turn the tables... who should take care of who, normally? The guy, right? Do and pay for everything this time around. Make it special. Do you have a talent? Do you sing? Play an instrument? Dance? Maybe find a venue (most nightclubs and performance halls will be willing to set aside a half-hour or so for your usage... contact your local university to see if they have locations, as universities are normally the most in-tune with the club and performing arts scene) to do so in.
Give him a pleasant dinner. You know your boyfriend, so no one here can really tell you what he'd like to do. Is there a favorite place (a beach, a park?) that he likes to frequent? Does he like a certain type of food you could make for him? Just think of all of the things you'd like if he did them for you and turn the tables, with all of his favorites in place of yours.

Your words are better that anything.It really is very hard to be in a long distance relationship.But you have to make sure that he feels the same way about you first.The distance puts emotional distance too between two people,besides the physical one.So first make sure he is with you,then if you really know him,you would know what will make him feel special.Just think about it.Each person feels special in a different way.Our idea may not work for your boyfriend.Good luck.

My sugestions would be a thoughtful card at the least. If you have the finacial means make sure you both have webcams/computers, that way you two can see one another since I am sure you talk readily. you can talk face to face over webcam/Voice via yahoo or MSN messangers. This will help alot. I would do a nice card though for the special feeling
