i had the same problem with mine. it's cos fans are clogged with dust. take a vaccume cleaner, remove the brash and hoover fans on the maximum capacity. while doing it move vaccumecleaner tube. u will be surprised how much dirt there is there. after u clean it completely it will function normally. try this

Ok ... Is your computer giving you a warning that "computer will shut down in.... seconds"
If so, you got a virus problem. Whenever you get that message, open command prompt as quickly as possible and type 'shutdown -a' and that will kill the shutdown process. Then, in the go to start menu ---> app programs ---> windows update.
Get the latest updates which will include some patches for your computer.
If it is shuttin down without a warning, it is probably because of overheating. There could be a fan failure or the heatsink connection breakdown.

if the fan turns on first, it may be the heat-sync.( the machine thinks it is overheating and shuts it's self off as a precaution.)

it could be possible that your laptop is programmed to shutdown after a specific time...try checking the settings.
