NO.
She is adopting him just like any caring American would. Other Americans have done the same thing by adopting from other countries and still do.
Those against it should be ashamed for bashing the institution of adoption.
Adoption is a good thing for the children and parents involved.

Some (not all) of the populace really needs to reevaluate moronic obsession with celebrities. These are extraordinarily insignificant people. To answer the specific question here: Don't be fooled by celebrities' antics, such as Madonna's adoption of the child from Malawi.

i think its absolutely ridiculous that people are making such a fuss. okay so maybe she's trying 2 be center of attention again but at the end of the day she will save this boys life! and also people are saying, why should she be allowed to adopt from another country when other aren't! Well I'm sure you'd be allowed if you'd donated millions of pounds to the orphanage and then offered to adopt a child and give him ANYTHING money can buy!

HECK YEAH ---Madonna's just trying to make a new trend--That's just bogus crap
Her AND Angelina Jolie AND George Clooney only like to be "humanitarians" just to show off to the camera
Look at Jolie and Clooney going as ambassadors to the UN, AND---what's more, BRAD PITT decided to join in JUST BECAUSE his "girlfriend" is in the UN
OH PLEASE!--I aint buying that crap
Only the true humanitarians are the Unsung heroes
Instead of Adopting African babies--why not just help some of them (the African people) get off the d-a-m-n continent

The child needs a home and a family. Madonna can supply both and I'm sure love is in the equation too. Wish there were more like her.....

When you think of how many children in the UK would love a family to live with (or indeed the US), and if you take into consideration that there has been a spate of celebrities adopting children from less developed countries there does seem an element of that - and of course it shows how "caring" she is.
Most people just make donations to aid. It's not unheard of to sponsor a child's future and education which provides opportunity and security whilst allowing them to stay in their own culture with people they know and love - like their father and siblings.

No more than the other celebrities who have adopted, at least she has already given birth too and raised two children so she knows what she is letting herself in for
she is from a big family herself, i believe she has tried for afew years to have more kids naturally without success
good on her for giving a third world child a chance in life
when other celebs do it they are applauded

as a lot as I despise that evil witch... She and 1000's of others will initiate searching to American born orphans and different needy children, at the same time as the Abortionists go away some stay ones.

It seems like it. She was fading into the darkness and wanted to be back in the spotlight again. Did you see when the kid was brought to England? I don't think she was even at the airport! She had her assistants pick him up! That doesn't seem too sincere to me.
