I'd say something nice, but not too flashy. Jeans are too casual, but the real authority here is the baby's mother, possibly the baby's grandmother.

You are not the center of attention, the baby is. Skirt, blouse and simple jacket would look nice. Hose for sure. Reasonable shoes. I think it is the custom for most women to wear a hat. Pillbox always works. Color should be off white, beige. Maybe a little lace at the top of the blouse or on the hat.
Take a clutch purse with lots of tissue. Babies tend to leak.
Enjoy. You are indeed honored to be trusted with the care of this little life.

I was just at one of these this weekend. Your best bet is to go with a plain color skirt with a pretty shirt and heels. Very few people at the church were not wearing a skirt and those that didn't were muttering that they wished they had. The godmother at this christening was wearing a knee length skirt in a floral print with a plain color top and pretty v-neck sweater.

If you want him to wear the family gown you should do it. My son also wore my grandfather's christening gown. It is special that your family has these things to be passed down through generations. It shows what a kind of family you have! Strength, pride, tradition and value! I think it's a beautiful thing.

Wear something casual and classy. No jeans. Find a pretty blouse and some casual pants, maybe guachos. Throw it together with some heels or or boots.

Not jeans. Think of what you might wear to a wedding. These are obviously your good friends or they would not have chosen you for this honor. Honor them by wearing something nice becouse theres going to be folks taking pictures!

Wear something comfortable, dressy, and warm. Just remember not to cry when they bash that bottle of bubbly on the bow...
Seriously, I would call whatever church head and ask. I'm not sure which church that ritual is part of, but I'm sure the priest/preacher/pastor will be glad to suggest something proper.

a simple nice outfit, something you would wear to church is quite ok, do not go in jeans as thats quite disrespectful to your cousin and also to the church

dress nicely. Jeans will be out of place, especially if it is in a church. You can wear nice slacks, but a dress or nice suit would be best.
