The anime of Inuyasha is centered around the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls), which is a powerful jewel that can give anyone immense strength. Everyone lusts for it because of its massive power but cannot obtain it because it is being guarded by a priestess named Kikyo. Eventually, a half-demon named Inuyasha plots to steal the jewel because it has the power to turn him into a full demon. His plan becomes flawed when he and Kikyo fall in love. Because of his feelings for Kikyo, Inuyasha doesn't have the heart to steal the Shikon no Tama from her. Instead, Kikyo promises Inuyasha that he can use the jewel to become a human and they can live together as normal people. Kikyo tells him to meet her the next day so she can pass on the jewel to him. But another half-demon named Naraku wants the jewel because he wants to harness the jewel's power. He begins forging a plan to steal the jewel too. On the day that Inuyasha and Kikyo are to meet, Naraku changes his form to appear as Inuyasha. He attacks Kikyo by slashing her on the shoulder and gives her a severe wound. Naraku steals the jewel and reveals to Kikyo (as Inuyasha) that he never had feelings for her nor did he ever wish to become a human. He only faked his love in order to get closer to Kikyo and discover her weaknesses. He leaves Kikyo behind, bleeding, and changes forms into Kikyo. Now, he RETURNS the jewel to the shrine where Kikyo guards it and sets out to find Inuyasha. He attacks Inuyasha, which prompts him to believe that Kikyo has turned against him and changed her mind about giving him the jewel. As revenge, he attacks the village where Kikyo resides and steals the jewel because he no longer feels any need to refrain from harsh action towards Kikyo because he no longer cares for her. The real Kikyo appears and shoots Inuyasha with a sealing arrow as he is fleeing. Inuyasha is now sealed onto the tree that he fell upon. Now, Kikyo is dying from the wound that Naraku gave her while in Inuyasha's form. She begs her little sister, Kaede, to cremate her with the jewel so that she may carry it on with her to the after life. [Point: Naraku returned the jewel first because if Inuyasha steals the jewel because of his scorn feelings, then the jewel will become more tainted, which in turn makes it more powerful]

Fifty years pass, and in modern day Tokyo, there resides a normal middle school student named Kagome. Her family lives on a shrine and one day, while she sets off for school, she is stopped when she hears her little brother call her. She follows his voice to the shrine's well, where her brother explains that he thinks their pet cat has crawled down it. She climbs down to look for it and a demon named Mistress Centipede snatches her down claiming "she feels stronger" when holding Kagome. Kagome strikes the centipede and it dissappears. When she climbs out of the well, the environment is totally different and she realizes that she is no longer home. She sees Inuyasha "asleep" on the tree and is fascinated by his doggy ears. Some passing villagers see her and accuse her of being an imposter because she is wearing her modern clothes, while they are dressed in the feudal era fashion. The villagers seize her and bring her back to the village to show to Kaede, who is now 50 years older. She examines Kagome and she thinks that Kagome looks strangely familiar and finally realizes that she is the reincarnation of her sister, Kikyo. All of a sudden, Mistress Centipede returns and seeks Kagome because she wants the power she felt before again. Kagome doesn't want the villagers harmed so she runs into the forest. Mistress Centipede bites Kagome on the side and releases the Shikon no Tama, proving that Kaede is right and that Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation. Inuyasha awakens because of the presence of the Shikon no Tama and persuades Kagome to release him by pulling out the sealing arrow because he is the only one who can stop Mistress Centipede, who has eaten the Shikon no Tama, already making her immensely more powerful. Kagome agrees and pulls out the arrow, releasing Inuyasha, who destroys Mistress Centipede. Then, Inuyasha turns against Kagome by demanding the jewel from her so he can at last fulfill his dream of becoming a full demon. Kagome runs away, and Inuyasha chases after her and Kaede attaches a beaded necklace around Inuyasha's neck by her spiritual power. This necklace gives Kagome the power to control Inuyasha by saying the word "Sit (Osuwari)". So now, Inuyasha can't run away. The next day, a demon steals the jewel and Kagome attempts to shoot the demon but accidentally shoots the jewel too, shattering it. The shards scatter to different places and are now open to be stolen by any demon. It is now Kagome and Inuyasha's responsibility to restore back all the shards to create the Shikon no Tama again before Naraku can get his hands on them...

The anime Inuyasha is probably the best anime i have ever watched. It s just straight forward and down to the point but also contains a lot of sadness, romance, action, and betrayal. Anyways, the series is about a boy around the age of 150 years old but appears to be 15 because this preistess, Kikyo, that inuyasha fell for, bound him to a tree only because this terrible demon named Naraku wanted the scared jewel or the jewel of 4 souls for himself. (The jewel has the power to take your power beyond the max or can grant you any wish you desire) Naraku formed himself to look like Inuyasha so he could betray Kikyo only to steel the jewel and killed her by slashing her back with his claws as well with Kikyo, Naraku turned himself into Kikyo and tried to kill Inuyasha. Later after Inuyasha slashed Kikyos back, Kikyo shot an arrow at inuyasha hence bounded him to a tree to ware he would be a sleep forever, or so they thought.
50 years pass by and a 15 year old 9th grade girl named Kagome Higarashi is introduced into the series. It s her 15th birthday and her brother calls her into their shrine where they re not supposed to play in. Her cat Buyu crawls down in the shrine and Kagome has to go get it but by the time she reaches the ground, a demon called Mistress Centipede, steels her and takes her away into their 500 year old well claiming she has the sacred jewel. She pushes the demon back and everything kinda goes back to normal. She crawls out of the well and the scenery and everything is different. She finds her self in a forest though she finds her family s tree. When she arrives to her family s tree, she notices a boy that has an arrow in his chest that is stuck to the tree, asleep. She plays with his ears and men come shooting at her. They take her away to go see Lady Kiyeday to annalize her. They soon find out she resembles Kikyo, Kiyadays sister and that she is the riencarnation of Kikyo. Then Kagome realizes that she is in feudal Japan from scanning everyones clothes, hair and houses. Later in the episode, the demon comes back and attacks Kagome. She draws the demon to the "forest of inuyasha" and takes the arrow out of inuyasha only to find out he s aswell a bad guy. In the next episode, Kagome, has to guard the jewel that came out of her body but a crow swollows it and she shoots it and shatters the jewel starting the series from there. Now Inuyasha and kagome s mission is to collect the jewel shards before Naraku does later finding new friends and welding his own sword that his father passed down to him called the Tetsiaga which his older brother, Sessomaru wants for him self.
