there are these bugs in my basemnt i want to get rid of but have no clue what they are. The bugs have legs like a grasshopper but thier bodies are shorter and fatter. Thier brown and bigger then a grasshopper. what the heck are they and how do i get rid of them???

they are called camel crikets.. they wont really hurt anything but most pesticides will get rid of them.

Wow, I read this twice and it gave me the creeps. I live in Southern California and I have never seen anything like what you described. I would pass out! It would probably be pest to call a pest control service so at least you will know what they are. Then find out if the come only in certain seasons so you will know when to watch for them; or better still prevent them from returning.

be carefull they may grow bigger and bigger who knows they may be from other planet out from space..can eat u up ...these r all waste thoughts nothing like tat just call up pest control and get ride of them..take care all the best

crickets. and I'm not sure what would get rid of them besides a snake...but then you have snakes.I'm sure raid has something-I use their ant killer and its the best I've found. no way its a roach!

those would be crickets! get a kitten, they love to play with little moving things and then eat them : )

and if you get rid of them you will have an infestation of what it is they are eating. ie: bedbugs and body louse

i'm not sure what kind of bug you're dealing with but a bug bomb should do the trick
