Try this, it works for me. I listen to each candidate or issue (a little research goes a long way) and then I decide what is right and I vote. I am neither a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. I do not agree with either party on every issue. Some things I am liberal on (such as pro choice), and others I am more conservative (I believe in the death penalty). You do not have to choose a party. Do what you think is right. Peace to you.

Actually, its the republicans are for the rich who take advantage of the hard working. The democrats are for the working class. Yes, we support social programs, but many confuse the meaning of "social programs" with welfare. Social Programs include, public education, health-care, affordable housing for senior citizens, medicare, drug rehabilitation centers(which are frequented by many republicans), Workforce Commission, it includes welfare, but most democrats believe in it being used only as temporary help, not permanent. Only those who are unable to provide for themselves, like the physically handicapped. VA benefits are also a social program. With republicans shouting support the troops, yet there are already disabled troops who have returned from Iraq who are struggling to get VA assistance because of cutbacks made by the republican administration. As for taxing the rich, shouldn't those who reap the most benefits from the poor pay more than those lower class individuals. Think about this, the most wealthiest people in America are democrats, and they fully support paying the taxes they should. If those who are the most privileged have no problem paying their fair share, why shouldn't we all.

Some of it is, to say that the Republicans are the party of the rich is wrong though. I have the numbers to prove this but it would be to confusing to post them. The Democratic party consists of rich elites-financiers, academics, heiresses, media moguls, software millionaires and Hollywood entertainers. In 2002, the top ten donors to federal candidates and political parties gave overwhelmingly to Democrats. 60 million total was given from the top ten donors and 92.4% went to Democrats.

A small bit true...most of it just spin...The Republicans are usually conservative on spending (Bush is Excpetion...He is spending like a drunk sailor)... Liberals are for helping peole who are less fortunate..(they start programs like Jimmy carter's Habitat for Humanity)..This is a very broad sterotype for both parties though and I do not want to do you a disservice by sterotyping political parties...
I like Brak Obama, John Mccain, Lindsey Graham, John Edwards, Harol Ford Jr..each party has some good guys....

Ignorance is not excuse. Anyway, you can be a good citizen by just doing what is right and better than the politicians enriching themselves while in the government.
