Normally its from the first day of there last period, its calculator 40 weeks from then. Which would mean 3 weeks from conception, only an estimate. It really does depend on the person but because most women don't know when they conceived its more accurate to go from the first day the last period.

In a "normal" pregnancy it is from the first day of your last period. You always hear about women who have been having periods then find out they are pregnant (5 months pregnant) I have to say - that that is NOT considered the NORM. Have you ever noticed how they say pregnancy is 9 months, but then they say 40 weeks? well wouldn't that be more like 9 1/2 months? That is because they count from the first day of your last period (about 14 days before you conceive). I hope this helps!

Conception. I didn't have a period for 4 months before getting pregnant with my oldest daughter, so she would of been born when i was "13" months pregnant if we would have went by the last period.

Pregnancy is usually counted from the first day of the last period. So, actually, the day you miss your period (with a 28 day cycle), you are considered 4 weeks pregnant.

Conception...women can still get their period when they are pregnant. A friend had hers for 5 months into the pregnancy.

The first day of your pregnancy is counted from the 1st day of your last period. It's a weird concept, but that's how it works.

Usually they mean from the last period. That's what doctors go by since it's hard to determine the exact day that you got pregnant.
