For example, I'm not good with names. This will sound tacky, but I'm REALLY good with birthdays (day-month-year). S.o. can tell me theirs only once and I will remember. I have freaked many people out. What's your method? Am really curious!!

nette: Indeed, some people are really not wired up to remember b-days. I try to zoom in on a physical characteristic (eyes, expression) and associate it with a sign. It's easier to remember a sign (there are 12) than a name (there are millions)... And no, I don't use it to flirt, lol! I've been doing this since childhood. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR INTERESTING (AND SOMETIMES COLORFUL) ANSWERS/SUGGESTIONS. YOU GUYS ROCK, AS ALWAYS xo

First Name and favorite thing they like to do.
Example:
First name: John
Activity: Baseball
So when I see John, I know he like baseball. (and vice versa)

I try to find a similiarity in the person's face with someone I know. If I meet someone named David, I think of someone I know named David. I have an Uncle David, so I find a similiarity between them. This David has a beard, and so does Uncle David; for example. You can also do this with celebrity names. If I meet a Brad; for example, I will find a similiarity between him and Brad Pitt. This seems to work most of the time.

I can usually remember their faces and place a name to their face
As for number I have a photographic memory and I remember
the phone number I had over 20 years ago when I was in Kindergarten by repeating the numbers over and over to myself
I am the same with any other number

this may sound mean but im horrible with names so if a person isnt funny or doesnt stand out in the crowd then i dont remember them. If they make me laugh then I remember them usually. same thing with them standing out. i enjoy getting to know someone who is being themselves than someone who is trying to be like very one else. but thats just me.

George,
at one time I was meeting 60 - 80 people per month through my job. after a while I gave up even trying to remember their names. my memory has been shot since those days.
now i just call everyone 'George'; it makes it simpler for me.

The most convenient way, I've found, is to carve their name into your forearm using soda can tabs. If you're artistic, you can even put their portrait there--if there's room.
