No, just do it when they ask for it in the job application. On your resume, just put your education, work experience, and skills, but don't put your status.

It would be a good idea to mention the visa status during an interview instead of on your resume. At least this way you appear before the hiring manager and you have the chance to impress him/her with your charisma, intelligence and ability.
You will not be able to escape the visa requirement when trying to get a job in the US. All job offers come with a form that you have to complete showing legal right-to-work in the US. I think it is called a I-9 or W-9.

i'm from canada so a lot of my experience and schooling is from there...i dont put my visa status on my resume-i figure that if an employer has any questions than they can ask me when i go to an interview (and yes i still get many)

Yeh, I think it would be right to mention visa status on your resume as such it will help the prospective employer to short list you among others if he looking for the person who has work permit or legal visa

I think the answer would depends on what and where you are applying and where you are applying from.
If you are currently in the country where you would be applying for jobs, then I would say no. You would like to improve your chance of getting your foot into the door to impress the hiring managers, rather than give them information to discriminate base on your visa status.
However, if you are applying for a job that has something to do with the home country, then it might be beneficial to mention that you have the right to work there.

I would not. If they ask for it, you can provide it but I have never heard of it being put on the resume.

I wouldn't.
This is an item of information you should be prepared to provide a prospective employer on request, but I wouldn't place it on any document unless you are sure who will see it.
