I assume that you are asking what you will need to know, since unless someone wants to make a career of it, they would ask you, not look for people offering information.

You would need to know about the chords that each "note" creates since there is 3 strings for each note. Now the equipment that you will need is minimum a tuning fork and a trained ear. On up to digital tuners that could get pricey.
