Looking for a new stereo system but want something smaller than I have now, it is too big and bulky?

I have a really nice stereo now, but never use it. It is too big, so I hide it behind the couch and never use it. I just bought the Philips SLA5500/37 and was surprised when it arrived to discover that the speakers were not integrated and I needed seperate speakers. Which I was trying to avoid.

The main things I like about this is one it is small and two it holds all my music. So, I am looking for something that would be able to come close to this, though I know it will be hard.

If I could get a small set of speakers that would work with this receiver that would be OK as well, I just don't want something big and bulky. I want the music to sound good, but something like a Bose system is just more than I really need. I mostly listen to the radio now.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a CD player or set of speakers that would match my needs?

Go to Crutchfield.com and see what they have to offer. I have dealt with them before and highly recomend them ! :-)
