You will probably need more than a four-year college degree. Also having a degree in a technical or science related field would be useful. NASA also likes Air Force Pilots to pilot their shuttles and usually will only take the best and brightest. Good luck, but it will be an uphill battle.

At *least* 4 years, probably more. But you don't need to know how to fly - obviously every space shuttle mission needs a pilot but they also have mission specialists who are usually research scientists. Go to NASA's website and do a search for how to become an astronaut.

physics, astronomy, medicine. You will need more than 4 years of college. Best bet is to become a military pilot with a degree in one of the above.

Get serious about math and physics, enroll in an engineering college through ROTC, train to be a pilot.

You need advanced degrees. You need to go to a good university and make excellent grades in some science or math. And, you need to attend graduate school and obtain an advanced degree of some sort.

after your masters, then get a phd. also don't forget to train becuase you will also need to be able to complete a triathlon.
