I don't know why your friend would think that blood would come out of your mouth because you changed brands of cigarettes but it says a lot about cigarettes.
It could be nothing but it could be something and if you're willing to bet your life on it being nothing than you can ignore it and stay home. However, if it were my life, I'd call my doctor and make an appointment.

I think you should check with your doctor. A change in brand of cigarettes shouldn't cause bloody mucus.

yeah changing the brand can cause issues like that. i smoked for 14 years and the only times i ever had any blood in my mucus was when switching brands BUT you should quit smoking, i quit and ui feel much better all the time, if your lungs are bleeding your hurting your body, it may not be dangerous right now but in the long run you can get cancer and die. just quit smoking.

If you continue to produce bloody sputum from your lungs you need to tell your MD. If the frequency or quantity of bloody sputum increases, you need to see your MD immediately.

I have no idea what changing cigarette brands has to do with bloody sputum.

Bloody sputum is always unusual, but whether it's a sign of irritation, inflammation, broken blood vessels, or lung cancer is unknown without investigation. It's also possible that the blood is not from you lungs.

Me, I would mention it to my MD and let them decide what you should do.
