Hit Control-Alt-Delete and open the Task manager. Go to the Tab l;isted performance. It will show Physical memory area with Total memory, Available, and System Cache. System cache is how much your hard drive is being used for RAM memory. If you are using more than 3/4 of your Total memory it is time to upgrade. Hope this helps..

Defragment (defrag) your hard drive. Seriously. I'm not kidding.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
You will get a full report there of all of your disk usage. You should make sure that you defrag your hard drive about once a week. The first time you defrag it, it will take a LOOOOONG time (maybe a couple of hours) but after that, the defrags will take much less.
When you are ready for a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them. I can buy a new system from them with a full warranty for less than it would cost me to build one myself. Put in the code: ATX926 for 10% off. Those guys rock and I've NEVER had a problem with anything that they have sold me.

RAM or hard disk space. To find the remaining Hard drive space, click on the C drive and go to Properties. If the drive is partitioned you will have to check each volume.
RAM - press CTRL+ALT+DEL and bring up Task Manager. Go to Performance Tab and you should see the remaining physical memory.

all programs, accessories, system tools will show you what you have free. You should use defrag and use a registry cleaner to free up some space. You don't want to be using more than 60%, this will clog your system up and cause it run slow. Check and make sure your spyware and adaware removal tools are removing unwanted malicious items. Good luck.
