They have a story to start with but they get paid extra to exploit it. As far as I have heard, they a real people telling there stories.

Apologies to the yanks but they have some serious issues over there and they are quite happy to tell everyone. You don't hear much about the aussies with issues cos we tend to sort it out over a few too many at the local.

I think that some of the people are serious about what they are there for. Some of the people wont be serious and they would just go to be on tv. I think that most of the people are very serious sometimes, but others think that they are just there to be on tv or something. Yes some of the things the people are there could and will be very serious and not made up but real. Maybe sometimes the people will be actors if they probably didn't find people with a real problem. Still they can be actors on there for some reason.

Sad to say but I think that they are actually real and extremely messed up people. The closing credits of the Springer show do not list any writers . I think that union regulations would require that the writers be listed . The absence of writers is what lead me to my conclusion.

I am sure that there are people out there as stupid as the guests on Jerry Springer, but the people on the show are just acting. It is all for ratings.

Gosh i hope they're not serious. I thought i heard they were actors. when he first started the show and tried to pass them off as real people but people found out it was all made up. Wasnt it a scandal? Any ways.....

I'd hate to think there are real people like that out there! It would be kind of embarrassing.

I think when the show first started most were real. But now they are all fake. Look at those people I think they give them all the alcohol in the green room they want. They have to . Lol .

People just are so desperate to get on tv they will do anything. I mean why else would people go on Fear Factor and eat the junk they eat. If people are that screwed up....pray! And don't watch the show and give them more publicity!

I don't think it's real, there just isn't that many rednecks in this world. People do the show to get their 15 minutes of fame.

A family I know called their "made up" story in, and were offered $500, hotel accommodations, and free air fare. They declined since we live in a small town.
