It is only about culture..
Nothing in Islam forces people to be wearing this or that. The only thing that matters, is to cover the area between the billy button and the knee. If you got this covered, then you are wearing an Islamic clothing.
Some of the clothing are 100% from the Saudi culture, and others from the Indians, so on. It dpends on people

It would really mess with the fashion industry. I'd still wear clothes. It's 48 degrees outside, nudity is not an option.

Isam mentioned the guidelines about wearing which has to observe by every muslim. The purpose of these guidelines is only to promote Modesty in the society as well as to curb crime against women i.e. Rapes, sexual acts b/w family members etc . If you consider the Statistics of crime against womens in western world is about thousand times more than any muslim country in the world just because of the nudity culture in western world. The horors of nudity culture are now so much that even sisters are not safe from brothers & daughters are not safe from fathers, sons doing crimes against their mothers these all are the horors of Western nudity culture. May God safe all of us from this nudity culture & promote modesty in our societies.

Description: Look on the web
Why? Religion and tradition
Believe me, when you "enjoy" a sandstorm in the desert, you would wish you had their clothes.
Practical in the modern world? No
We have hats, sunblock and many other products to protect us against nature.
It also abuse the rights of women especially to be human beings.
The are treated like animals in some countries when they don't dress accordingly: They get whipped when their ankles show or pulses. You have to see it to undrestand this inhuman law to force women to close themselves to society.
Does it help to protect them? No. They get raped and abused by their family members, country men and other.
I know you don't ask this, but the truth never kills. Find ways to help these people.

we all wear the same clothes to promote uniformity, equality. If everyone wears the same, no makers names(NIKE< VERSACE) we are all equal in the eyes of ALLAH. We wear this style of clothing so as to promote decency, self respect, chastity and modesty. A man/ womans flesh is to be seen by their partner and ALLAH, NOT the bus driver or a gang of lads on friday night,,

modesty as opposed to mini skirts, see through clothes ...etc; many forms of the clothings are culture based though, depending on which continent, and how strict the wearer is; the covering of the face is not necessary though; and has never been prescribed.

It is cultural not religious. There is absolutely nothing in the "Great Book", to say what people must wear. God is many things but not a tyrant.
