I really can't. I despise it. I know it's arrogant, or whatever word you prefer, but I don't think I write beyond what a reasonably educated person can understand. I can barely abide speaking more simpistically to children. I just expect people to be able to comprehend what I am saying.

I know it's counterproductive to good communication, but it's just how I am.

Sue Chef, however one defines my peers in communication, my audience, as it were, I would prefer that I speak to people that can comprehend as well as I do, are better, so that I may learn from them. I welcome all comments that are decent, but I enjoy most those that talk at my level.

I guess you are saying you can't Dumb it Down for the simple folk.
I admire you for it but you will never be popular that way!
So what do you want, a small smart audience that appreciates your literary exorcises or a big broad based audience to whom you are nothing but silly meaningless entertainment?
Where do your priorities lie?
Nice question and well put.
