It really depends if you are playing Head-to-Head, Rotisserie, or Points League. Also, it depends on what categories the league is using.

But, there are a few players that will always be picked near the top due to their contributions in multiple categories.

1. Lebron James - best all around player in league and best fantasy contributer. Gives Pts, Asst, Steals, Reb, some Blocks, occasional 3 pointer, decent FG and FT percentages.

2. Kevin Garnett - Was the best..until recently can be relied on to give 20pts 10reb 4-5 assts 1-2blocks every game.

3. Shawn Marion - Gives pts, assts, reb, 3pters,steals, and some blocking.

After that it is in dispute, although here is my opinion of top 5

4. Kobe Bryant - Helps in FT% and FTM....FG% is okay but streaky..gives pts, assts, steals, some 3pters.

5. Dirk Nowitzki - Gives pts, reb, 3pters, high FT%, FG% and about 1 block a game. Versatile big man.

Honorable mentions that most likely will be taken first round: Gilbert Arenas, Yao Ming, Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, Chris Bosh, Elton Brand, Dwayne Wade

Good luck.

Lebron, KG, and Marion all have huge fantasy value because of the numbers they put up across the board. If you can get Ray Allen in the second round don't hesitate.

To be honest, this question depends on the type of league you are in and the stats that you are accumulating.
