How does the human body use salt?

We use salt to keep a balance of water for each of the cells in our body. It's 0.1% salt. When you have too much salt in your blood, the cells shrivel because of osmosis. When you have too little salt in your blood, the cells burst from too much water again thanks to osmosis.
