Why is his stomach hurting?

If he has reflux, that's a whole separate issue. (Both of my kids did, and required drugs to get it under control.)

If it's just gas, you can try Mylicon drops. (I don't think they do much, but at least you feel like you tried SOMETHING.)

You can also "bicycle" your child's legs. My kids always found that very helpful. Or try infant tummy massage.

If you are feeding formula, change to another brand. If you are breastfeeding, change the type of food you are eating. Some foods, especially chilies are passed thru breastmilk and can upset baby's tummy. If baby has gas you can use Gripewater. It is an herbal remedy that works for me. When my baby is gassy or has colic I give him a warm bath...but only IF the umbilical cord has fallen off, and is healed. I also will move his legs in a bicycle fashion, and he usually passes his gas. My wife breatsfeeds, and we noticed that gas gets worse depending on the foods that she eats.

If you are formula feeding and give cow's milk, try goat's milk instead, as it more easily digested by baby. Also try going to http://www.thehappiestbaby.com/store.htm, or Askdrsears.com.

Hope this helps.

Good suggestions already, but I used to lay my daughter across my lap on her tummy with her butt slightly elevated and pat her back. Sort of a reversed burping. Worked really well for her. I also played "peeewww stinky feet" which is kind of similar to the bicycle movements, but also made her smile a lot. All three of my kids loved that game, even when they weren't gassy! Good luck, I hope your little one finds relief!

try hylands colic tablets.... they are a homeopathic natural remedy..... my son does not have colic but he has reflux.... his doc refuses to give him an antacid (probably a good thing) but I felt my son was needlessly suffering, I went to a local health food store and after chatting with the woman there I got the tablets.... after the first dose he settled right down and has been happy since.... because they are homeopathic they are extremely safe and unlike the gas drops or gripe water you can give him some at every feeding.....

you can try gas drops, personally I dont think they work, but a trick I used was to push his legs back and forth in a bicycle motion againt his tummy, if he has gas this will help him pass it. My oldest had collic and it helped to relieve some of his gas problems.

depends on why he is hurting, gas? use gas drops also try lying him flat on his back and holding his knees up toward his chest to put some pressure on his belly, also try holding him w/his back aginst your belly and your arms around his tummy to add some pressure, Good Luck!

you can try GRIPE WATER or KOLIK DROPS.....both are available at Walmart....
I found the kolik drops worked better for my daughter.....

but also check with your doctor.

You can also lie him on his tummy across your lap and rub hi back and the pressure on his tummy will help him relase some of the gas...........
and you should burp him sitting up......on your lap....hold his head up under the chin......and rub his back......
by sitting that pushes gas out of his tummy as well.......

Those worked for me!

sorry your little one's tummy hurts. when my baby was little, and she had a tummy ache, i would hold her like a football! that is - her head was by the bend of my elbow, my forearm was under her tummy, and she was facing the floor so i could rub her back. she loved it. good luck.
