It depends on the government...Ours? unless this "campaign of fear" continues, I doubt it. If the American public buys into this fear and smear campaign perpetuated by the current administration, there could be some serious consequences to any religion the government deems a "terroristic" threat. But I have faith that the American people are smarter than that, and that this regime's control will meet a timely demise in the '06 and '08 elections.
Religion in general?...no, it is too useful as a political tool, besides one of the tenets of the Bill of Rights.

According to the Constitution, the government should have no hand in religion whatsoever. The two are required by law to be totally separate.
Any government of a free people should keep their noses out of all things religious. And the laws enacted by this government should not be motivated by any religious faction, either.
You do remember the Constitution, right? That little piece of paper our country is based on? If you've forgotten it, don't worry, so has most of the rest of the country...especially our President.

No. The government may turn against Christianity (already has for the most part), and other organized traditional religions in its attempt to be fair and equal in the quest for separation of church and state.
However, humanism is also a type of religion and is the prevalent belief system of our government and nation. We also worship an individual's rights as sovereign, and idolize material possessions and wealth.

The government should not be concerned with ANY religion. The Constitution talks about the SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. If we continue to bring Christianity, or other religions into the forefront, then we become no better than the Religous States in the Middle East.

I think our govt is too afraid of what will happen. Ignorance is sometimes bliss, I can imagine our govt will be stupid enough one day to try though.

"It depends which lever you pull on the 7th..."
LOL .. who pulls a lever? Thats classic. Thanks!
Government will have to reign itself in when dealing with fairness issues and self-interest. There is nothing more important than equality and progress for all.
