Yes, it is colostrum. You will have that until a couple days after the baby is born. Then it will get thinner and whiter, but it helps the baby fight infection and gives the baby all of your immunization!

Yes.
This is colostrum (sp).It has all of the antibodies that are going to help your newborn should you decide to nurse.
Even though you decide to nurse your baby, your milk will take a day or two after delivery to start producing and in the meanwhile your baby is taking in the colostrum (sp).
Should you not decide to nurse, that is not a problem as manufactured milks do have plenty of the required vitamins and minerals that your newborn will need but it won't have antibodies to help your newborn fight off germs/bacterias and virus's so you will need to follow your peditricians instructions on shots, feedings and the such that will ensure good health.
As your newborn grows, they will develop their own antibodies so don't worry if you don't nurse.
Even if you don't nurse long term,if you can atleast nurse long enough to get past the colostrum (sp) stage you will be giving your newborn an added edge in acquiring their own antibodies.

yes it is very normal you are producing colostrum it is breast milk that comes out first it has most of the nourishment for your baby if you breast feed which i would greatly reccemend i breast fed all 3 of mine babies and it is very good for them as well as you. and it can help you lose yor baby fat after birth and it is such a bonding time you will be amazed at how close your baby will be to you. you will probably leak like that from now till you dry up after you give birth if you don't breast feed that will happen a few wks or so after birth. and they will get very swollen and painful but that is normal as well good luck
